Why Truth Matters More Than Ever
We live in a moment unlike any before it. Never in human history has so much information been available to so many people so quickly. A single device in your pocket can connect you to the thoughts, claims, and voices of the entire world. And yet, for all this access, we are drowning. Not in facts, but in confusion. Misinformation spreads faster than truth. Lies dress themselves up as wisdom. Opinions shout louder than reality. And in the noise, many sincere people find themselves unsure what to believe at all.

Jesus warned us that days like these would come. He told His followers plainly, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24). Notice that the deception He described would not be crude or obvious. It would be persuasive. It would come wrapped in wonders and dressed in credibility, convincing enough to fool even those who thought they could never be fooled.
Paul echoed the same warning. He spoke of a coming lawless one whose arrival would be marked by "all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing" (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10). And he explained the tragic reason people fall: "they refused to love the truth and so be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10). The great danger of the last days is not simply that lies exist. It is that hearts grow unwilling to love what is true.
That is why truth matters more than ever.
Here is what we must remember, and what this study is built upon: truth is not a human invention. It is not something we manufacture, vote on, or reshape to fit the mood of the age. Truth flows from the very character of God. Jesus made this staggering claim about Himself: "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6). Truth is not merely something God speaks. It is something God is. And because God does not change, neither does His truth. It stands firm when everything else shifts beneath our feet.
This Bible study exists for one purpose: to equip you to recognize deception and stand firm against it. In the pages ahead, we will trace how falsehood works, from its first whisper in the garden to its final campaign at the end of the age. We will train our eyes to see clearly, our minds to think biblically, and our hearts to hold fast when the ground of the world begins to shake. This is not a study to fill your head with fear.
