Maybe doodling brings us back to our childhood, when crayons and markers were a vital part of our developing creative process. Personally, I was kind of a boring "colorer" as a kid and would get cranky if I went outside the lines or used anything different than conventional blue to fill in the sky. This is probably why I went the completely opposite direction later in life and still appreciate abstract art more than established classical forms.

The thirty-six doodles within this book originated many years ago, but I did not get the urge to share my creations until the last year or so, when I realized that any type of art can be important, no matter how inane and ridiculous they first seemed.. I also wrote a free verse poem to accompany my doodles, which I believe better unites my absurdity into a cohesive mess of wacky wholesomeness, as I further reunited with my childlike imagination.
