Descrição do livro

The world had long forgotten Dusksquare. Forgotten—or deliberately buried. Travelers spoke of it as nothing more than a ghost story told around fires, a warning for curious children who wandered too far. Maps showed no trace of the place, and no caravan claimed to have crossed its gates in centuries. Yet deep in the memory of the land, in the unsettled silence between dusk and nightfall, whispers lingered.
It began on a night of fading crimson skies. The sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving streaks of dying fire that stained the clouds above. On the edge of the forgotten vale, Mara, a historian who had spent half her life chasing myths, arrived at a ridge where the land seemed to fold inward like a secret being hidden from the world. She had followed old fragments—scraps of parchment, fractured testimonies from wandering hermits, even lullabies whose lyrics spoke of “streets that breathe when the moon is pale.” All led here, to the vale that no one dared to mark.
The ridge wind carried with it a chill that did not belong to spring. Mara wrapped her cloak tighter, peering down into the hollow. At first she thought it was nothing but a shadow cast by the mountains. Then, slowly, as the twilight deepened, shapes emerged. Towers. Walls. Streets stretching like veins across a buried heart. Dusksquare.
Her breath caught. The city was not ruined as she had imagined. It was intact—eerily so. The rooftops glistened faintly, as though slick with dew, though the valley below was dry. The walls rose with unnatural symmetry, untouched by time. And strangest of all, the faintest light pulsed from within its heart, like the beat of some living creature.
She took a cautious step forward.
Behind her, the rest of her small expedition caught up: Coren, a soldier turned mercenary whose blade was as restless as his temper; Elira, a quiet scholar with a gift for deciphering symbols; and Janis, the young scout who had insisted that he could track any trail, even those “lost to ghosts.”
Janis was the first to speak. “Saints preserve us… it’s real.”
“Real?” Coren barked a laugh that was more nervous than mocking. “That isn’t real. That’s a curse wearing the shape of a city.”
Elira adjusted her spectacles, her dark eyes glittering with a mixture of awe and fear. “It matches the earliest descriptions.
