The Crimean sonnets of the famous 18th century Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz, translated into the Crimean Tatar language (a language that is part of the Turkish language group), are a collection of 15 choral works accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The sonnets use many famous folk themes of the Crimean Tatars. All parts are contrasting in character, form and program. In some parts of the sonnets, folk themes are complemented by the author's material. In some others, the author stylises the musical material in the character of national folklore. And in the third part of the sonnets, the folk melody acts as a counterpoint to the author's material. This composition is dedicated to the composer's beloved wife, Sabriye Latif-Zade, whose long life journey continues to inspire the author to create new compositions.
