This book provides an overview of the unique system integration requirements for Electronic Warfare and Signal Intelligence Systems into Unmanned Platforms. While Unmanned Platforms are similar to Manned Aircraft in many respects, there are unique differences between the two as an example, moving the vast amount of data that is collected by modern EW and SIGINT Systems into the hands of analysts presents challenges to unmanned platforms (due to limited data links) that are not seen (or much less so) on manned aircraft, where operators and analysts can be part of the aircrew. Therefore, the book is intended to provide the fundamentals of how to integrate EW and SIGINT into unmanned systems. Chapters will cover an overview of unmanned platforms and of EW and SIGINT systems, requirements analysis, creating a system architecture, multi-intelligence challenges, data link constraints, end-to-end connectivity, cybersecurity, EM interference, test and calibration, and RF system selection.
