This monograph is dedicated to our project leader, Sarinova Assiya, whose vision launched the project "Development of technology for intelligent preprocessing of aerospace images for recognition and identification of various objects" (Grant IRN AP19678773). She devoted her career to remote sensing challenges, laying the groundwork for these technologies.
The work studies compression methods and archival systems for multispectral remote sensing data. Chapter 1 analyzes lossless methods (DPCM, JPEG-LS, CCSDS 123, wavelets, 3D-SPIHT) and lossy ones (JPEG/3D-DCT, JPEG2000, PCA+JPEG2000), tested on 230 scenes from Landsat 8, Sentinel-2, MODIS, and Hyperion. Metrics: CR, BPP, PSNR, SSIM, SAM, throughput, energy efficiency. Key: CCSDS 123 optimal for lossless (CR≈2.8–3.2); PCA+JPEG2000 hits rate-distortion at CR≈8.
Chapter 2 outlines end-to-end archival architecture: lifecycle policies, STAC/ISO 19115 metadata, ingestion pipelines, HSM with erasure coding, STAC/WCS/REST interfaces, Dask/Spark processing, monitoring, quality control, 10-year TCO/capacity planning. Figures, tables, formulas follow GOST 7.32-2017; bibliography has 50 sources per GOST 7.0.11-2011.
