Reservoir Development Strategy Using a Stochastic Model is a rigorous and applied technical study on the characterization and exploitation of oil reservoirs through the use of advanced geostatistics and three-dimensional stochastic modeling. The work focuses on the North Area 8 of the Ceuta Field, Block VII, in the Lake Maracaibo Basin, integrating geological, structural, sedimentological, stratigraphic, and petrophysical information to build a detailed geostatistical model that accurately represents the lateral and vertical heterogeneity of the reservoir. Through the application of techniques such as Kriging, Cokriging, and Sequential Gaussian Simulation, the author generates multiple equiprobable realizations that allow the evaluation of uncertainty associated with reservoir properties and provide a more reliable estimation of the Original Oil in Place (OOIP). These results constitute a valuable tool for technical and economic decision-making, including the drilling of new wells, the rehabilitation of existing wells, and the implementation of secondary recovery strategies. With a clear methodological approach and a solid theoretical foundation, this book becomes a reference for petroleum engineers, geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, graduate students, and Earth science professionals interested in applying stochastic models to support the efficient and sustainable development of hydrocarbon reservoirs.
