This book is based on an in-depth investigation of stresses in rotating disks made from various materials, with a particular focus on the impact of the Poisson ratio. The materials studied include Copper, Brass cast, Molybdenum wrought, and Rubber. Through careful analysis, it has been found that as the Poisson ratio increases, the resulting stresses in the rotating disks decrease. This indicates that materials with a higher Poisson ratio exhibit lower stress levels. Additionally, the study reveals that disks made from compressible materials experience higher stresses compared to those made from incompressible materials.
The findings presented in this work offer valuable insights for selecting materials in the design and manufacturing of rotating machinery. The book is organized into several chapters, each addressing different aspects of the research and its conclusions.
I hope this work will contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between material properties and stress distribution in rotating disks, aiding future developments in engineering and materials science.
