TC 3-21.98 provides Soldiers with essential information for operating in tropical jungle environments. This handbook aims to enhance unit effectiveness and individual survivability when deployed to these challenging and complex operational environments.
The principal audience for TC 3-21.98 is all members operating within a jungle environment. Commanders and staffs of Army headquarters serving as joint task force or multinational headquarters should also refer to applicable joint or multinational doctrine concerning the range of military operations and joint or multinational forces. Trainers and educators throughout the Army will also use this publication.
TC 3-21.98 applies to the Active Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States and United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated. The proponent of TC 3-21.98 is the United States Army Maneuver Center of Excellence. The preparing agency is the Directorate of Training and Doctrine United States Army Maneuver Center of Excellence.
