Alex and Richard Gordon lived the life about which many film fans would dream - they went from being dedicated film fans as kids to successful independent producers. There are few, if any, other brother teams with the same history as the Gordon brothers. Alex, the elder brothers, was one of the founding producers of American International Pictures in the mid-1950s making a variety of movies: science fiction, teen dramas and war films. He would go independent in the late 1950s and then into the 1960s he became a respected film historian and archivist. He wrapped up his career by working for one of his childhood idols, legendary singing cowboy Gene Autry. Richard, like his brother, used actors who were favorites from his childhood, including two films starring Boris Karloff. Operating out of New York City, Richard made his films in Great Britain. His best known, perhaps is "Fiend without a Face," his ambulatory brain monster movie. Richard maintained the rights to most of his films, allowing him to sell them for television, home video and streaming re-releases. This book covers their lives and careers from the perspective of a fan who became a friend.
