THE BOOK OF LIFE
A MEMOIR
The Book of Life is an epic journey told through the eyes of one soul living many lives. It begins before memory, before recorded history, and follows a woman whose existence moves through Eden, Egypt, Ireland, the Pacific Islands, and finally into modern Aotearoa New Zealand.
In Eden, she awakens as “Life” — Lilith — discovering that the forbidden fruit was not meant for death, but for awakening. When Adam falls into fear and violence, her first life ends, but her soul continues.
In ancient Egypt, she lives surrounded by gold and incense until betrayal strikes from the hands of her closest friend. Her death there opens the path to the Underworld. She rises again in Ireland, where her peaceful family life is shattered by soldiers and loss.
Then comes her longest and most powerful journey — life as Niwa in the Pacific. Here she witnesses the rise of chiefs, storms, and gods. She becomes part of the stories of Kahuna, Ra, Ehu, Papa, Tu, Tawhiri, Tane, Rona, and Maui. This is a world of ocean voyages, sacred knowledge, warriors, family bonds, forbidden nights, supernatural encounters, and the birth of legends. Love, violence, motherhood, and destiny shape her path across Tahiti, Hawai‘i, Niue, and the ancestral seas.
The story then returns to the present day. Born again as Marlene Ham in Aotearoa, she navigates childhood trauma, faith, homelessness, violence, mental health battles, spiritual warfare, and the vow she made to God as a child — to make Him smile every day. She grows into a woman who survives by spirit, by instinct, and by the invisible strength carried from lifetimes before.
The Book of Life blends myth, memoir, reincarnation, and Pacific cosmology into one sweeping narrative. It is a story of survival through centuries, of a soul who refuses to be broken, and of the unseen threads that connect every life we have lived. It is raw, spiritual, emotional, and deeply human — the other side of the story of life and death.
A story about spirit.
A story about memory.
A story about returning.
A story only one soul could tell.
