This book details the measures essential for creating a durable world. First, the world needs to be divided into blocs, with each bloc having durable conditions. All these blocks must share one essential quality: they must control and, in the end, stop economic growth. The author uses the European Union, as it exists today, for his inspiration, due its having created conditions of fair competition for members within the borders of the EU. Elsewhere, natural blocs already exist, such as the United States and China, and others are emerging in Asia and Africa. The author's enduring interest in the relationship between social and political ideas and the circumstances in which these ideas are born and expressed greatly informs this volume. It pays respect to this theme, not in relation to the past but rather to the future.
