This is not a journal you must complete from front to back. Begin wherever memory is warmest. A smell, a nickname, an old bat, a scar, sharing a drink, a photograph, or one disputed appeal may open the door. Write the facts you know. Mark what you are uncertain about. Invite another witness to add a different version.
Use the story pages to recover context, the reflection pages to discover meaning, the scorecards to rebuild matches, and the signature pages to preserve encounters. Tape in copies rather than irreplaceable originals. Note names, dates, teams, grounds, and the story behind each item; provenance is what turns memorabilia into history.
Some memories will be funny. Others may carry disappointment, grief, exclusion, or unfinished business. You decide what belongs here and what remains private. A life in cricket is not measured only by runs and wickets. It is also measured by who made room for you, whom you encouraged, and what you passed on.
