This study explores the contemporary landscape of cyber crime in India, examining its evolution, prevalence, and impact on society. With the rapid digitalization of the Indian economy and the widespread adoption of technology, cyber crime has emerged as a significant challenge, affecting individuals, businesses, and government entities. The research highlights various forms of cyber crime, including data breaches, identity theft, phishing, and cyberbullying, while analyzing the legal framework and enforcement mechanisms in place to combat these threats. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys and case studies, the study assesses public awareness and the effectiveness of current strategies in mitigating cyber threats. It also addresses the role of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, in both facilitating and combating cyber crime. The findings underscore the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures, greater public awareness, and collaborative efforts between government, industry, and civil society to create a safer digital environment. This research contributes to the understanding of cyber crime in India, providing valuable insights for policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and the general public in fostering a resilient digital ecosystem.
